    I email my reps regularly and never receive any political calls or texts. Like @Wild Bill I have always assumed it's because I'm not affiliated with a party, but perhaps that's not the case since @gouch lives nearby 🤷‍♂️

    Don't I know it. I keep telling sammichfreak I'm just a slave to the grapes until the Cabarnet gets harvested. My job has evolved to keep me on site from mid September to mid November which is super annoying, but my schedule is still significantly more flexible than my wife's.

    I don't think most folks understand how rigid the schedule is. You aren't taking off a week in September to hunt elk and a week in October to hunt deer. No way. You get 2 or 3 personal days for the entire school year. If you play your cards right and draw the tags maybe you use veterans day...

    When I was a teenager a stevens 200 could be had for around $200. I have a .308 and a .223. They were chambered for most of the common cartridges. Same action as the savage. Plastic stock with a foregrip that was bulky and squared off just like a 2x4. Always shot well for me though.

    I shot my buck on opening day of rifle season last year. It was 86° and everyone else on the hill was napping in the shade. Seems crazy that it's not unusual for early/ mid October here.
