Just one rifle that is suitable for the game we are hunting. I'm always hesitant to adjust a scope without having time to make sure it tracked correctly, so I was just planning to compensate the 3 inches; it's worked well at the range.
I was hoping someone could shed some light on this. I am dialing in my rifle for myself and someone else who is going to be using it and noticed that I am getting consistent groups 3 inches high and the other person is right on. Why can a fixed scope have 2 people hitting in two different spots...
Ive seen other stories with a die off like this in the past and they are sometimes blamed on a lightening strike. An insect disease that can spread that quick and have that kind of effect is pretty crazy.
The article said that virtually no one hunts them for food. Is that true, is the meat not palatable?
If there are benefits to keeping hunting open there the way it was, could you make it so hunters not interested in the meat be required to donate the meat?
I wanted to see if anyone had hunted unit 21 and wanted to share how their experience went..Where they stayed (I'm staying in Casper), weather, terrain difficulty (going with some people who aren't in the best of shape), road conditions, etc. That sort of terrain is foreign to me so it would be...
that part that spins is symmetrical as it relates to fitting back in. The only difference I see is that one side is deeper. you can see that in the 1st and 3rd pictures I posted earlier. I think that was what was stopping the bolt from going that extra 1/8 inches.
it appears problem is solved. I cant remember if it came that way or not, but im surprised that wasn't suggested when I called them. My guess is I bumped it around accidentally...
Thanks everyone for your help. I just took a closer look and the problem. was with the bolt. I have no.idea what it's called but the piece on the bolt that rotates (see pics) was rotated 180 degrees in the wrong direction. you can see one notch is slightly longer than the other, which i assume...
The rifle is a few years old. If I recall, it has always been an issue, which I just assumed was either me or the ammo. I was shooting Remington core lokt and they don't have the best point, so i assumed that was the issue with it not feeding properly. I never bothered to look again until I ran...
I'll look into the bolt release and take some more pics when i get home. I spoke with Savage this morning and the only suggestion they had was a faulty magazine, which seems unlikely. I asked if I could send it in but its a 8-10 week lead time...
