Good thread......leupold scopes, model 70's, model 94's, wool clothes, cotton balls soaked in petroleum jelly, nosler partitions, and I'm sure a lot more
I'd say first off don't let the idea of Grizzlies freak you out. Living in montana I've certainly been around a few and fwiw I have been mostly hunting solo for the last 15 years. Best bear defense in my opinion is using what's between your ears. Be aware of your surroundings and keep yourself...
In my mind that's a hard question to answer with words alone. I would say my Dad was a good if not a great hunter. Growing up I was always amazed by his keen senses and knowledge when we were in the field together. He was a good shot but also knew his limitations in that regard. He seemed to...
I been dealing with this for awhile and it's frustrating for sure. I'm also to the point that I'm guessing surgery will be in the near future. I've been hesitant as I've heard pretty mixed reviews on the outcome. Braces help a little at night so I don't wake up as much.
Why in the hell do you need to shoot such a cannon? Don't you know you can kill a charging brown bear with a 22 mag revolver and kill any animal that walks the earth with a .223. I mean no need to submit yourself to that abuse......lol
I usually go out and set up several milk jugs in varying positions to shoot a few times each year. Like was said above its cheap, provides good visual feedback on hits, and it's fun. Been doing that since I was a kid
For some reason I have never had any desire to hunt Africa. I'd love to see elephants and the big cats but no desire to hunt them.
Gotta say it surprises me how many people have sheep on their " not bucket list " it's like right at the top for most anyone I know myself included.
Damn, hadn't seen that before but for me it just wrecked a really nice wood stock. I guess I'm old school, don't ever see myself packing a Tripod around in the mountains while hunting
I know someone on rokslide was testing one of these out and didn't seem like it was shooting worth a darn. Like 4" groups at 100 yards. Far from the .5" group they guarantee.
That said I take what I read on rokslide with a large grain of salt.
I love the looks of the wood stocked one. If...
Nice looking bow for sure! If you decide to turn it into a business I think you could do very well. From my experience there are more than a few people who are willing to spend large amounts of money for true custom handcrafted work. Good luck to you!
If I'm being honest I think bears are the hardest of any animals to judge. I've been around a lot of bears, mostly black bears and it's still not easy. Living in montana we can't bait and hunting spot and stock can be really hard to get a good enough look at times. I hate to rush judging a...
