How many days do you rifle hunt specifically for deer in your home state?
In CA not including scouting days last few years has been under 5 with two deer tags filled. When I wasn't as effective filling tags quickly early on it would be 30+. We have long seasons here. -

I can think of more than a few like strip malls, housing developments, parking lots, etc all on wintering range. How Long Meat in Freezer
Even if freezer burn just cut it off. Meat is still good 3-5 years in my experience. Then again, it rarely last that long without getting ate!- lastlight
