I've got a Polaris Ranger and use the heck out of it on the farm, single seat 570.
Big two seater ones like shown above take up too much garage space and cost too much. Think I'd rather just have a Jeep.
I give those leather tough shanks to my buddy. He slow cooks them for about a week then eats the shredded meat over rice.
Sometimes I chunk the shanks up real small and mix in with my grind.
If ground has already been worked, that 25 hp machine will handle a 6' disc and do a decent job. If starting with sod, you'll need something to break it up first.
That machine will handle a 5' rotary tiller. I use a rotary tiller all the time and it powders the soil up nicely.
We are in the same boat, I'm 64 , spouse 61 and all we have is a very basic will ...... If I die she gets everything, if she dies I get everything, if we both die it's split between the kids with brother (now 67) as the executor. We've got lots of real estate, a pretty healthy nest egg and no...
I've had dozens of hunting hounds. There are individual differences, but in general I always thought the females were a bit easier to handle, better behaved, etc.
Have had some spare time on my hands and no ice yet for fishing, so set some coyote and raccoon traps today.
I've snared a lot of coyotes in the past but need some snow for that and we don't have many fences around here. Have yet to catch one in a foothold, usually caught raccoons. Did a little...
We frequently fish a lake in northern Michigan that is loaded with good smallmouth.
I'm more of a catch to eat guy so don't hardly pursue bass, but I sure see a lot of dead floating bass caught off the beds by the catch & release bass boat guys.
You can see them on their beds and they are...
I've planted around 40,000 trees on our ground in the last twenty years.
Little seedlings like that are cheap, so my philosophy has always been to plant a bunch knowing that you are going to probably lose 20% to deer browsing, etc.
If you want to make quick work of it, borrow or rent a tree...
Two partners and myself sold our construction company, all equipment, real estate, etc. to four younger employees several years ago.
It's easy enough to come up with a value on tools, equipment and real estate.
The challenge is what is company name, history, existing clients and goodwill...
Friend of mine shot a whitetail buck with muzzle loader last weekend. Shot it right at dark and didn't recover it till 10am next morning so it laid about 16 hours. Shot was quartering so it busted up some guts, temps were between 30-50F. He brought it by to show me, skin and put in the...
Butchers use their knives every day to make their living, watch what they do.
No special gadgetry required. They start with quality knives, then keep them sharp by frequently touching up the edge of their knives with a steel.
You won't see many butchers using a buck knife, replaceable blade...
If you continually touch them up with a steel and never let them get real dull, you can go a long way between a full sharpening jobs.
When one gets in bad shape I like the electric worksharp tool, starting with coarse, then medium, then fine grit.
Anytime I'm working with a knife much I have a...
Have a pot of beans with a ham bone, ham chunks and onions going in the crock pot right now. Will enjoy it with some corn bread later.
We often eat "Hutch-a-ma-grundy" (spelling varies) but it's basically any leftovers we have are going to be supper.
