You can't raise livestock or grow anything within the solar fields being built in the midwest. They are all perimeter fenced to keep critters out and the panels are spaced too closely to allow any type of agriculture plantings. They also spray the heck out of the areas with weed and brush...
Poor comparison. You are comparing the footprints of a natural resource extraction area -vs- a power generation setup.
A coal fired power plant would not take up near the area as that solar field, and the coal mine shown likely supplies quite a few different power plants.
If you are going...
Why don't they put this crap on blighted industrial sites rather than eating up undeveloped land?
They are currently taking out thousands of acres of prime, productive farmland in the midwest for solar farms.
I'd rather see one coal fired electrical generation plant occupying a hundred acre...
2015 Is not that old of a bow.
Take the quiver off to shoot and that takes care of most of it. I'd bet a trip to a good pro shop and a few minor modifications will get it about as quiet as a new one.
Interesting how many people dislike lead sleds.
I came to the same conclusion and gave mine away a long time ago.
Biggest things I disliked was all that crap between me and the gun and how high off the bench it required the rifle to be.
These days I just bench shoot with a couple big sand bags...
+ 1 for the Wisker Biscuit.
I'm not a target archer, only practice for hunting and keep my shots 40 yards and under. Whisker Biscuit has been 100% reliable and accurate. I like the way it holds arrow in place on the rest, one less thing to worry about when the action heats up.
Got stranded on a mountainside overnight in Alaska with my dad after he shot a dall ram at age 66. By the time we got the ram broken down it got too dark to be walking around safely so we plopped our butts down on the rocks shivering all night (which luckily wasn't too long) in the rain and...
Only my entire life.
It's busy with trucks, tractors, lights and noise for a few weeks every spring and fall during planting and harvest. Grain dryers are loud and run a lot for a few months after harvest, and when the wind is wrong we occasionally smell a confined hog operation or freshly...
If you live around AG this is just something you should expect and not complain about.
Beats living in a metro area and all the noises and lights associated with such. Majority of the season AG country is quiet and peaceful.
Don't be a Karen !
Old guy I knew would toss them in his spring fed horse / cattle trough for a week or so.
Rationale was that they spent their lives down in the mud on pond bottoms, etc. so several days in fresh clean water would clean them out.
Have done lots of guided hunts and never looked at it as a percentage.
On most hunts when successful I'll tip the guide somewhere around the $500 range. Camp helpers, cook, etc. might get $100 each.
Do what you can afford but most importantly treat them politely and respectfully, and don't be...
Big fan of the Weatherby chamberings. Currently own a .257, .270 & .300
Have shot everything from groundhogs to grizz with these rifles, no complaints.
Great, flat shooting cartridges and Weatherby makes a fine rifle as well. The only negative is recoil, so you want a rifle that fits you...
