You clearly have no understanding of the political landscape in Colorado. Conservatives and/or Republicans are such a small minority in Colorado that it doesn’t matter what they do. While stupid at times, they are completely irrelevant. Single party state with super majority and control of every...
Great interview. Dan is on the front lines with the fight to preserve hunting and defend the NAM in Colorado. We are lucky to have him. I encourage everyone (resident or non-resident) who cares about the future of hunting in Colorado to donate to the org he leads- Coloradans for Responsible...
Yep. They don’t struggle with anything in places like Colorado and Washington because they are buoyed by piles of money from national orgs and political backing from the ruling party in Denver/Boulder. They also don’t struggle with the issues of wildlife management and protecting the resource...
But you have to have the media platforms, funding, and reach to convince the average non-hunter. It is not enough just to eliminate negative media regarding hunting. Anti-hunting proponents will spread their message across social media, television, etc. And they have plenty of money to spend......
That's a pretty fair assessment of the issue. You could absolutely be right and this dramatic increase in hunting influencers and social media might be our demise. I hope not and would like to think that much of it could be utilized for hunting advocacy as a net positive. Hunting advocacy is a...
I don't disagree with your first statement. It has definitely had a negative impact. But I do believe the type of content that MeatEater and Randy put out helps activate new advocates for hunting and portrays a positive image towards non-hunters. MeatEater reaches a pretty large audience. You...
I am not saying that Cam is any type of hero either, just that we as hunters do need significant positive media voices and he does have a decent following. He should probably advocate more for the institution of hunting. The way things are trending in Washington and Colorado, it could really...
I deplore some of the hunting content out there also. In this modern age of social media, I believe that hunters should really be discerning about the content they post. But to think that these anti-hunting activists are just going to quit if we stop posting stuff on YouTube is a bit naive...
I honestly can’t tell you much about Cam’s films or media as I haven’t seen much, if any. But I think your last statement is dead wrong if you live and/or hunt in Colorado or Washington. I’m not saying overharvest and overcrowding aren’t issues but they really don’t matter when hunting is...
I personally think we as hunters are gonna need Randy, Matt, Steve, Cam, Joe Rogan and every other pro-hunting voice with a media following to take on the extremely well-funded national anti-hunting movement setting up shop in Colorado, Oregon, and Washington. These alternative media outlets are...
This is exactly what I think of when I see the endless pages of comments on CO resident vs non-resident OTC tags. If only we had such passion for defending the institution of hunting and the NAM here in Colorado….
Absolutely agree. Count me in that minority also. I talk to hunters all the time in Colorado who are in complete denial that this is happening. This isn’t some crazy right-wing fringe conspiracy theory. Anti-hunting, animal rights activists have gained enough political influence with the ruling...
Just to be clear, I was referring to home and auto insurance. I would never use USAA for a mortgage or auto loan. Their rates on loans are not competitive.
So these days you can usually beat USAA price wise if you shop around for home and auto but as stated by others their service when you actually make a claim has been better than most other companies, in my experience and that of other friends.
Gotta start indoctrinating em early in Colorado. If you can successfully project human qualities on wildlife it makes the vilification of hunters and hunting that much easier.
I’ve had just about every type of waders through the years. The breathable waders from the major brands are a significant improvement over the neoprene waders of the past. In terms of comfort, mobility, and warmth, they are worth it. I am on my second pair of breathable waders and they have been...
