2018 for me and I killed a whitetail his morning, so it won't happen this year. First Whitetail I have killed in 40 years. -

My horse has sharps and pads in hunting season no exceptions. It wasn't always that way but after sliding back down an icy hill with a horse on his knees while trying to follow a sharp shod horse I figure better safe than sorry. You never know, might need them tomorrow.- MTTW

I knew an old outfitter that had killed some big bucks back in the late 1950s and 1960s who swore that mule deer didn't rut until the week of Thanksgiving. Lots of different takes on rut timing, like everything I guess. -

I had a biologist tell me once that every buck in Montana is rutting before Nov. 10. That was 20 years ago and since then I have decided he was right. -

That rifle is sweet, and the beauty marks make it even better. I killed my first elk with one very similar, but I had a white line recoil pad which was hideous compared to the red pad, but it felt good. Lol Elk thumper extraordinaire.- MTTW

Nosler Solid Base
I am going to put together a .257 Wby this winter so I am going to hang onto the 25s. My daughter also has a 25-06 and when she finishes school and has time to hunt again, we will end up shooting them.- MTTW
