    I saw a lot of big bears coming out of zone A this year. Not a lot of acorn dropping trees up there. That acorn crop was insane once you got near Eau Claire though.

    Remington 870 with iron sights downed my first whitetail doe. Shooting sabot slugs out of a smooth bore because I didn’t know better. Took 3 seasons on public land to get the first one. Things have improved over the years.

    Oh yeah by the end of December I’m hunted out. Hunting grouse, ducks, deer, squirrels, rabbits and an annual trip west. I get done with being cold, tired and wet. But, invite me on an Argentina dove hunt in a month and watch how fast I pack.

    You could walk the midtown cemetery by yourself, end of the streetcar line in midtown, across from bulldog. I wouldn’t recommend walking the cemetery north of Rampart St. at any time of day.

    I hunted with corelokts for 20 years before making the shift to coppers. I wish I had been shooting coppers from the start. All that said, I’d recommend 150 grain. It has plenty of killing power and you’ll shoot flatter.
