Cool find of the day. While hiking through the woods today, I came across this cool old copper rifle case. The google machine said they quit using copper in 1888? I took a pic of the bottom of the case and there appears to be a U and maybe a C at the end. Google suggests Union Metallic...
I was about the same age as you when my knee started bothering me in 2010. Was arthritis, bone on bone and told it's not if but when I'll have to do the knee replacement and that I was too young. Started the "pain management" phase with the Euflexxa injections but after a couple years didn't...
In the summer of 1991, while working for the USFS near Philipsburg. We saw a wolverine right off the skalkaho highway way down low and miles from any forested cover. There were four of us and we sat and watched it for 5 minutes. I never would have thought wolverine where it was but comparing...
I bought a box of the 150 grain CX to try in my 280 AI. I did a ladder test with H4831SC and RL23 and hit pressure with both at 2960 fps. The H4831SC was better accuracy. Plan to use them this year and see how they perform on elk.
A good handshake is akin to 69....just fits. But if the handshake don't fit, I don't give two $hit$ 😂
Seriously...can confirm I may have been judgmental by a handshake once or twice in my life. I hate it when I go for a handshake and it misses and then it's the awkward handshake on my...
Good thread! I used to take my son out with me fairly frequently up until 7 until one day I pushed him a little too hard trying to get him to walk just a little too far. That was the last day he expressed any interest in outdoor activity in his youth. It was totally my fault and not one of my...
Was planning to retire at 57 in 2026 but I was able to roll over money from a 457b account to purchase service credit to allow me to retire this year at 54. I figured I didn't need the money from my 457b to live on and my advisor said do it.
Plan is to have knee replacement surgery in late...
I bought a champion 3100 so I could run my AC in my camper but have only run the AC a couple times in 5 years. Its 96 pounds and definitely a pain to move around by myself. But it's worked really well for everything I've used it for. I'd say it's probably louder than my buddies Honda 2200 but...
I've been really happy with my leupold rangefinder. It's going on 6 years now with zero issues. I bought a pair of the meopro air 10x42 binos from schmalts last fall. The glass is outstanding for the price point. My only knock on them is the non locking diopter. The diopter moves a fair bit...
Imma ragret this but.......I married a woman who's maiden name is the same as my last name. I'M 1,000,000% POSITIVE WE AREN'T RELATED! She'd been married before and so did I. She said it was $200 at the courthouse to change her name or $40 at the JP and I was the cheaper option 😂 Well, we...
A tough job for sure. Hunters don't feel listened to. Landowners don't feel listened to. Legislature saying we'll tell you what to do. Hunters are the constant in the equation and we'll continue to buy the crappy product they're selling. Being pessimistic, I don't hold much hope for public...
Happy to read this thread. I'm 54 and have been in "pain management" phase for the last 12 years. I finally set a date in November to have knee replacement. Nervous but excited. I appreciate hearing the good recovery stories.
Sorry to hear that man! When we lived over in Billings, I got pup and after about 7 months, she was perfect when I was around. When I wasn't there, she was aggressive. I never saw her aggressive at all. One day while at work, my daughter had a friend over. The dog tried to bite her. I...
It seems to me you feel I'm attacking hunter's legal right to be out there under the regulations. That's not what I'm saying. They're taking advantage of the opportunity. That opportunity comes with a cost and my opinion is that cost is the degradation of one of the best limited entry units...
