Unsure the validity of this but was told the bear initially came to rest on an island that is well used as a stopping point for lunch and breaks for river trips. It was then pushed back into the river where the carcass floated down to where the picture was taken. If true, and it initially came...
Floated by the carcass yesterday on the bank. It's a big bastard. Probably would have rather seen it taken out of the river somewhere else to get feasted on by other critters. But really doesn't bother me too much.
I know 3 people with them and they all say they shoot really well. The one complaint one buddy has is the length of pull is long side and since he's a shorter fellow, it really doesn't fit him that well.
Still a novice at tying my own flies. Worked on some blue damsels and caught fish yesterday on them. This 20" fatty smashed it then took me into my backing.
Just spent 4 days fishing the green river in Utah with my son. That place is spectacular. A bit crowded compared to what I'm used to. Weather sucked but had one great day of dry fly action. Caught fish on streamers, nymphs and dries.
Several years back a coworker was on one site, so a buddy made up a fake woman's profile saying how much she enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, etc and posted it to the site, hoping our coworker would respond so we could bust his chops. So many of the responses were so out there, it made feel...
I'm not sure what's a worse rabbit hole, this or reloading. I've been to the fly shop 4 times this week. The owner just laughs. I need to find a cheap used desk and a place to set up. I've taken over half the kitchen table. The wife is tolerant so far. I told her to let me know when it gets...
Made a few chironomids to take to the pond. Caught a real pretty one. Measured at 18". Caught another one that was bigger but not as pretty. Wasn't really looking for a new hobby but it's become quite addictive.
Never tied a fly in my life til 2 weeks ago. My son bought me a kit so I've been watching videos and trying to learn. Tied up some balanced leeches over the weekend. Took them to a nearby pond and managed to catch 5 fish. Crappy pic by myself in the raft but proof nonetheless. Looks like...
In Montana it didn't make it better and I'd say made the problem Worse. When they started issuing OTC cow tags across much of the so-called over objective areas, It targets accessible elk, all while the inaccessible elk herds continue growing. End result a few years down the road is less...
I used the 150 grain CX in my 280AI this past year. Shot an antelope, 2 WT does, and a raghorn bull. I thought they performed excellent. Definitely more of a wound channel than from the 143 grain hammer hunters I'd previously been shooting.
