That's something I hadn't considered - any combustion heat will produce moisture as a byproduct. Did the tube heater have an exhaust vent? I also imagine your humidity in the winter in Michigan is a wee bit higher than ours.
If you don't go this year, this statement will still be true next year. I'd say go for it and commit hard to learning everything you can while you're at it.
If you have an early deer season locally, watch Randy's gutless method video, shoot a deer, and quarter it out before you go. It's way...
Floor space is definitely a premium as it's laid out now, but I'm intrigued. For the pellet stove users, what's your pellet usage/cost during a cold winter?
Doesn't the heat pump lose efficiency and eventually functionality in severe cold? A/C in the garage would be nice at times, but reliable heat in the coldest weather is the most important factor. The boiler room (now, furnace room) is off the garage and needs to be conditioned for the 97%...
You had me all excited with this one.
And then crushed me with this one.
What is your $/KwH? Mine comes out to ~ $0.13/KwH for delivery and service, although I'm sure that there will be another double digit percentage increase soon. I would imagine with only one heater and less square...
Long story long, we had our boiler replaced with a high efficiency furnace and central air in the house, so the attached garage is no longer heated. Looking at all the available options, I realize I’m wholly unqualified to make this decision, so might as well engage the HT faithful.
House was...
If he gets a job in a future Trump admin and actually finds the spine to stand up for something, which seems unlikely, given his 180 to a full-throated (and bruised knee'd ;)) endorsement, he'll get fired just like every Trump official who's refused to blindly say "yes" to everything. But I'm...
A big part of being successful elk hunting is the mental grind, forcing yourself to keep busting ass when you haven't seen an elk track in 2 days until you figure out where the elk are. Be careful which buddies you convince - if they're hard to talk into coming, they may be hard to talk into...
All fine and dandy, except for water. They get tired of Helena talking about lake access so they want to take ours away!

I think you forgot a checkbox for contributing snarky content to HuntTalk.
But for real, I'm a volunteer ski patroller and have been on the board for 5 years now, and 6 months into parenthood, I don't know how some of you (Nameless especially) find the time in the day! Hats off to you all!
Man, it’s been a busy week and I totally missed this too. Not trying to get a thread locked, but what did his HT username rhyme with?
Edit: nvm. I think I connected the dots.
A year or two ago, I saw a half ton pulling a ~30-ft bumper pull camper with a 18-ft boat behind it. Center lane over the Capital Interchange bridge going 75 and the boat alternating between taking up the entire right and left lane. Unreal.
This was the thread - https://www.hunttalk.com/threads/help-bolt-sticky-after-stockys-stock-install.321424/
Basically the gun was functioning exactly like it should in a wood stock, but in the Stocky's CF stock the bolt was sticking after each shot. Had a local smith check the bore and he said...
Well I'm not going to include any pics because it ain't pretty, but I think it will be effective. I've done a lot of DIY house stuff and worked on motors some, and would generally consider myself pretty "handy," but this was way harder than I expected.
Using a hand drill to drill out the...
Reviving an old thread, as I’m going to be embarking on bedding my Stocky’s cf stock for my REM 700 tonight or tomorrow. This is probably a dumb question, but is what’s the upside of bedding bottom metal, other than improving fit/finish? Would it be possible for un-bedded bottom metal to induce...
