Making a job change possibly...what would you do?
I would try to find another job with the state to keep building on your pension. There have to be openings around the same salary without specific education requirements, and most state jobs outside of teaching have reasonably flexible schedules.- 4ohSick

Obviously the web of factors influencing declining mule deer herds is large and complicated; it will be interesting to see if the more managed buck harvest in the Region 4 units winds up leading to improved recruitment/fawn survival. And I mean this literally. Imagine an initiative being championed by gun owners who are willing to put some skin in the game to combat the mental health issues behind so much gun violence. Maybe I’m overly cautious, but I’d be a little nervous carrying a deployed decoy on public land. I’ve called other hunters in and generally believe the limits of human stupidity know no bounds - giving them an elk visual could result in an arrow flinging your way in low light. -
