BTW, I have some video of the buck he killed in 1998, too. My Dad and I scout a lot of the same areas his outfitter hunts so we end up seeing a lot of the same bucks.
If you have our video his 1998 buck is in it and is named "Marshall".
I found a field photo of him on another outfitters website. The hunter is Douglas Isbell. Buck killed in 2008 in New Mexico.
I have no idea how long the buck is. Anyone out there have B&C Trophy Search? You might be able to find this buck on there if he entered it. I'd be curious to know how...

He's probably close to 16 long with 5 6/8 prongs. 13 2/8 on the bottom and 7 4/8 on top. At least that's what I come up with on a quick guess.
Beautiful buck, no doubt. I think I may have...
Quick guess would be 78-4/8, but these are very tricky pictures to judge from. And if you haven't taped him yet, he may have shrunk some off that mark and be closer to 76-77. Let us know.
My Dad and I are guides and outfitters and have been hunting and guiding on landowner tags in New Mexico since the 1980's.
You won't be able to accurately gauge the quality of the ranches without actually scouting them first. What we did in the early days was just get the landowner list from...
He said he mostly uses McKenzie forms and a few Coombs. Said the McKenzie are a lot easier to mount on because the hides fit a lot better. Must mean they're more anatomically correct.
I remember that the Coombs give the bucks a more macho look while the McKenzie's give them a daintier look...
