Good question.
Fawns are tiny and have no horns, so they're easy to identify.
Yearlings (or 1 year olds (really closer to 1-1/2 years old depending on when the fawn is dropped)) will have their first set of horns and look like the tiny wide buck in the photo above. They are also very easy to...
My new favorite thing to do is photograph as many two year old pronghorn as I possibly can and try to pick through them and figure out which one is going to be the biggest the next season! It's actually turning out to be easier than I thought it would be. I've nailed two bucks so far, but I've...
I'd say on the whole the Hunt Talk community is getting better and better at field judging antelope.
I have him smaller than most of you, but I got to see him in person and see all the angles so I have a little bit of an advantage. His bottoms I think are a little deceiving in the side view...
The difference between the tough to draw units and and the easy to draw units is public land percentage and the number of trophy bucks per 100 does.
For instance, in area 64, you have almost all public land and you'll find a trophy (80+ B&C) buck for about every 100 bucks (from my experience)...
I think I've applied a few times in the past. The seasons don't seem to coincide well with my regular job schedule. We'll see, maybe I'll get the itch in the future.
I'm pretty sure you're hunting a different area than the one we're looking at.
I'm glad that you liked our video. I started converting all of our 8mm tapes to DVD recently and I'll be able to access all of it a lot quicker so I may start uploading more of the old footage that we have to YouTube...
To tell you the truth, I like a lot of the units in Wyoming. I'd say if you have Eastman's or have seen their MRS section for Wyoming that they have it pretty much nailed down with the same units I'd recommend. My Dad and I have 1 point each and we're probably going to apply for an area we've...
We guided in 62-2 last year. We counted about 12 total sections that you can access that might have antelope in it. The rest of the area is either private or would require driving through private for access and all of the private land is marked and run by an outfitter. Unless you include the...
Here are 8 bucks from the first half of our 2012 Wyoming season. We're heading back up there in about a week to find 4 more giants (fingers crossed).
Of these 8 bucks the smallest buck is probably 83, the biggest is well over 90. Taken out of 5 different units.
Good luck to anyone who still...
