    Satelite cell phones?

One negative, can only use in a handful of countries. Obviously usa is the main useful one, but I was hoping it would be useful on international travel, doesn't appear to be the case unless you travel to one of the dozen or so listed countries. They musta partnered with the satellite provider...

    Satelite cell phones?

Looks like it's about time to upgrade my iPhone if it works as advertised

    Any hockey fans out there?

McJesus, I like that name. Very fitting

    Sig Sauer Rangefinder

I have a sig. Like it well enough. Does better than my old bushnell. Always figure it can only range about half the quoted distance. Pretty sure I have the 2k and it's good to about 600yds on a deer or elk. I think you need tripod stability beyond that distance. App is pretty slick once you...

The limits of the 2nd Amendment

Add South Dakota to the list that ingestion is illegal. typically it isn't the sole charge for a person, but used to slap additional charges against an accused

    College students Living at Home

Do you think she doesn't know how to budget? Because living on your own in college is more than just paying rent. In my opinion it's more about learning how you can stretch a dollar. Paying rent is a part of it, but I think it's more about how do you save while shopping for groceries...

Ban the biscuits and open flames!

Agreed, I run a high limit on under/uninsured because of that. Few dollars extra to get $500k a year is money well spent in my eyes

Ban the biscuits and open flames!

Fair but this thread is about home insurance. Plus most states allow you to self insure for auto as well. Sd only requires like $30k cashiers check to self insure off the top of my head

Ban the biscuits and open flames!

Have heard very bad things from state farm in this regard. One claim and they'll drop you because they lost money on you. I avoid them like the plague

Ban the biscuits and open flames!

No law to require it that I know of. Just if you want a mortgage the underwriter will require it to protect their investment. Once you own your home free and clear you can drop that policy and hope your luck stays positive!

Anybody have luck in the elk draw?

Some how hit with way too few points this year

    Alaska's Rivers Of Rust.

Not ideal by any means. Didn't see much on it, but I'd be curious if this had already caused a decline in salmon population in these select rivers? Thinking outloud, maybe kings are more susceptible to the minerals and that's been another part of their major decline?

    Roth for a kid?

What does he want to do with the money? If it's for anything other than retirement you're better off putting it in a brokerage account. Most are very liquid until you get to high dollar amounts as well.

South Dakota elk tag, to guide?

Don't put that much pressure on me! Haven't sealed the deal on a bull yet but this is the year!

South Dakota elk tag, to guide?

Hunt is all of October. Hills are almost 95%+ public for my unit so shouldn't have a problem with access. I'm leaning pretty heavily on DIY from everything I'm hearing and have previously experienced out there Also, I don't think you're allowed to hunt on a golf course?? That seems like...

South Dakota elk tag, to guide?

Anyone pulled a SD elk tag on here? I got very very lucky this year and pulled a tag. Trying to figure out if I should DIY or use a guide for the first time? Curious other folks experience out there, DM's preferred. Major points of consideration: Almost certain this is a once in a life time...

    Fox pups

Ah fair point. I'm used to coyotes getting calfs around here and couldn't picture a fox pulling that feat off easily

    Fox pups

I enjoy foxes, don't see a whole lot of downside as I believe they primarily go after small rodents. Like a cat minus murdering song bird I suppose

8/32 tread left. Good for a 6,000 mile road trip?

Plenty of life left. Most tires run something like 16/32 and won't replace until 4/32

Help! I can't get my lab to stop digging!

I had luck in the past filling every hole with cayenne pepper so the dog would sneeze anytime they tried to continue. Eventually they figured it out that digging isn't desired
