    Sheep meat any good?

    It’s kind of hard to explain the taste. I’m not a fussy eater by any stretch and regularly eat rutted up mule deer without complaint. I made 50/50 sheep pork snack sticks with some of it, and even those took on that taste.

    I’d really like to try a sheep that isn’t a rutted up November ram. I like most all wild game, and my wife’s ram in November did not taste good at all. My friend shot a ram with his bow in the same area in September and said it was good.

    Looks like a great bull to me. Congrats! I’ve definitely been the guy before who reacts poorly when I’ve gotten trigger happy with plenty of time to hunt, and I doubt we’re alone in that. It happens but that feeling fades. Still a good mature animal and you definitely put in the work pre season.

    Not surprised to hear that. The pressure on bma’s in region 6 during upland and deer season the last few years has been so bad, it’s getting harder to even care if there’s funding for them. I know it’s wrong and feel bad even saying that, but it’s a gong show on these lands for 3 months basically.

    Since I’ve never shot a big elk, I’d probably have to go that route, but man there’s something special about a 190 typical muley. A dark antlered 170 mountain whitetail would be another one to add to that list as well.
