I have a 110 Hunter in 6.5 Manbun too. Mine had the standard ejection issue so bought and installed the ejector upgrade kit. I have every intention of putting a Magpul 110 Hunter stock on it when they become available.
A question and on topic, I was able to download the Android app on my Sony TV in the bedroom. Yay! My family room TV is a little older a Samsung KS, was near top of the line when I bought it but it does not use Android or iOS, my issue there, I do plan on upgrading that TV in the future. So...
I wonder how the CVA Cascade would compare. I have not shot one but they seem to be a well put together firearm and maybe a better entry than the T/C Compass.
Day 4 and Day 5 October 8th and 9th. Friday was pretty miserable, rain/thunderstorms/wind. I did a bit of mobile exploring and the little Nissan Frontier handles the mud perfectly. I did see deer on Friday, 4 doe and a spike buck. It was refreshing to at least see deer. Lessons learned for...
So, as there is some sick humor in it. I figured I would post updates on my hunting season as it goes along. Keep in mind I am solo hunting so things I don't do are bring two rifles as I am paranoid as all get out and assume a backup rifle kept even in a locked gun case will get stolen and not...
I usually shoot pretty slow when sighting in. I always take 2 rifles to the shooting range when sighting in even if one is dead on. That forces me to let one rifle cool while I shoot the other. Using this method I generally shoot about 5 rounds through each every 30 minutes or so. I am...
Rural northeast is a bit vague. I lived in Upstate NY most my life and they have several Sportsmans now that used to be the Dick's Field and Stream brand stores. Also outside of Syracuse NY is a Bass Pro. I know NY stinks as you can't have ammo shipped there from online retailers.
Good luck...
The only mono bullet I have actually killed anything with is a GMX in a 7mm-08 Superformance load. I will be trying Hammers and have some Barnes to load as well. Just need powder and primers. Hard to vote but want to see the results so while it most likely will change to Hammers in the...
A fun thread. Always fun to hate or love on the Cowboys. I became a Raiders Fan as a kid back in the 70s, you know, when they were good, I have been a fan and season ticket holder since I moved out west in 2012. I have been bitchin' about how bad they have become since 2003.
I remember...
I have to +1 on the pork belly. One of my favorite grind recipes for venison is 50% venison, 25% ground chuck and 25% pork belly. Makes for great ground meat for burgers, spaghetti sauce, sloppy joes, etc.
I have to believe the pressure to push out ammunition plays at least a small role in the apparent decrease in quality control. I am not saying that as an excuse but if a product line used to push out say 1000 boxes of ammo a day (no clue at the real number) and now to meet demand those same...
My grandfather gave me his Savage 1921 12 gauge pump and I killed my first deer with that. As a result I do have an affinity for pump shotguns. I own 4 pump action 12 gauge shotguns and may invest in a 16 or 20 even though I do more rifle hunting and shooting these days.
I have hunted Upstate NY whitetails all my life. One thing where whitetails are very different from mule deer are whitetails do a really good job of living close to the road, so getting far off from the beaten path may actually take you away from whitetail habitat. River bottoms and marshes...
I have been contemplating the Newburg 2 Howa in 7mm-08 but am liking the idea of the 1:8.5 twist that Ruger has on it's 7mm-08 offerings. Will decide when I actually go to buy later in the fall.
I chose 7mm-08 as it can do what I need within 400 yards without the extra cost and recoil.
It is...
