Back east I would not put a round in the chamber until I was on stand or stalking/still hunting. In the west the chamber is empty until I am on a stalk or occasionally if I am on a stand which is possible but more rare than in the east.
I was thinking of trying to work up a load using IMR 4831 with some 120gr partitions for 25-06. That is on the back burner as I plan on reloading some 7-08 reloading first.

My better half has a Tikka T3X Lite in 7mm-08 and she loves it.
I have to wonder given air friction + barrel friction + burning powder, wouldn't a balsa bullet pretty much be ash shortly after exiting the barrel?
