One of my favorite meals to make when I’m feeling fancy or trying to impress guests/family! And the colcannon is a nice way to change up mashed potatoes.
I saw this and I’m interested. I’m a big big fan of BirdDog Blackberry and it’s bourbon-based. Makes a great lemonade too! My dad is a blackberry brandy fan around any holidays mixed with 7up. Always gave me the cough-syrup feeling. But the BirdDog is a staple for me! I’ll be trying this one...
This rifle came to me this way. Older “flatback” Savage 110. Rear scope base was for a round receiver so it sat lower than it was supposed to. They drilled an additional mounting hole in the base and then since the scope didn’t sit well in the rings, shimmed the heck out of it with shims from a...
In this situation my inner conversation is going something like this:
“Well sure as heck they have to be the dumbest spot possible and only an idiot would be sitting here contemplating this. So this gives me two routes or so to make a fool of myself if anyone is watching me do this. Oh well...
I have quite the history with a few different Glenfield (Marlin) 25’s. I always figured I’d buy one for each of my kids and cut a stock down and make a single shot adapter to go along with that stock for when they just start out. Then when they grow up I’ll give them the full size stock for...
Made chili out of some beef stew meat packages that I had. Couldn’t say what the recipe was but turned out great! Not the most appealing pictures but chili almost always tastes better than it looks anyways.
It should work just fine for that. The Stevens 200 is just a Savage 110 with a crappier (rougher and duller) finish and without the accutrigger, it originally sold with a very cheap plastic stock.
I just don’t think I want to do a Savage action in the future, so I’m probably not going to stick...
I’ve got one that I’ve shot two does with. One year the doe I shot was with the 185gr TTSX and then the year after that with the 210gr TTSX. Currently down with a broken stock and haven’t worked up the motivation to fix it, but I’m getting there. Did mine on a Savage/Stevens 200 with an ER Shaw...
I remember reading this too. I think it used to be on Barnes’ FAQ but I can’t find it anymore. 165gr version was optimized in the ogive for .300WM and WSM. 168gr was optimized for .308 and .30-06 with a lower expansion threshold. If I remember correctly it was 1500fps vs the 1800fps for the 165...
Man, this just reminds me I gotta get my loads to a chronograph. I’ve got a load for each bullet and I’m constantly back and forth on which makes more sense based on velocity estimations instead of actual velocity.
Mine is the same as last year: If I get off my rear and fixed my .338-06 stock, I’d use that with the 210gr TTSX. If not, I’ll fall back to my .30-06 again. 150gr E-Tips worked this past year, but I’m probably switching to 168gr TTSX this year.
