It’s really pretty sad . I hunt/apply in a bunch of western states and Montana’s wildlife management and regulations are by far the worst. Could care less about e tags but agree with the sentiment fwp is an embarrassment
Montana needs to get their shit together on so many accounts. Their nonresident draw is a total crock with the preference point bonus point bs. Pick one type of point and like Wyoming have them burned no matter what you draw. Their season dates are ridiculous. They literally manage their elk...
I’m not that into the idea of cow moose hunting for the reason that most cows will have calves. Personally I wouldn’t shoot a cow with a calf or even the calf for that matter.
Snyder recently talked about how his wife gives her real estate clients his excess game meat. Is this even legal? Exchanging game meat as part of a business transaction sure seems to walk the line on legality.
I'm thinking hunting is in need of possession limits like in fishing and such...
What's really depressing is when you look at a state like Wyoming and even if you have max elk points the odds of you drawing one of the best tags is still in the low single digits and there are no random tags. I don't think that guys with lower points realize this.
I have hunted a ton around MN and comparing a private land spot to public is not relevant at all. 5 plus deer/sit as the standard on pressured public is ridiculous. 9 deer is not woefully low by any means it’s actually pretty good especially for September.
Mystery ranch- too heavy and not very good load lifters. Pack design is old school and clunky
Kifaru- owned a couple of these and I guess some guys like them but for me they were terribly uncomfortable and how many straps and zippers can a pack possibly have... buy a Kifaru and find out
Stone...
Since we all know harvest rate is the only barometer cpw and other agencies use for setting tag numbers... There’s no other factors at play 😆 if you think Colorado is anything like Alaska you’re very mistaken
😂 so you would rather see a tag someone can’t use sit in their drawer or tossed out rather than the current system where at least someone will get the reissued tag??? Most of these reissued tags were paid for and they don’t refund your money if you want to keep your points. I’m not a genius...
This is not true you don’t gain a point if you turn your tag back so if you did this every year you would eventually fall behind in points and not draw it again the following year. In the top units this could happen after one year.
