    Sunday Pic of the Day

Looked up to see my Daughter and oldest Grandson blood trailing a blacktail she shot a few years back. I was at the deer and couldn't pass up a picture perfect moment!

Return Of The Jaguar to Arizona and New Mexico, your thoughts?

That sounds correct. He was a hound man that specialized in tracking dry country using mules for transportation. A government trapper here in OR that I had an opportunity to ride with, had trained with him a little and I believe purchased some dogs for his work here. He let me read the...

    Losing the Family Farm

This seems like a great plan to get started. Then the monthly payments would be a great income for your parents to use for the long term care. I agree that if you can keep it just you and your brother, it would be much better. Maybe you could lease an opportunity to hunt here and there if you...

    Spring Bear 2023

I was lucky and drew again for this spring. Also received my age card back for my boar I killed last spring! I'm starting to get the urge to get out and find another spring bear and some turkeys for sure :) ! Now if this darn snow will stop.

New member from Texas, heading to Oregon

The chicken fried steak breakfast was so good. I remember the steak came on it's own full size plate with the eggs, toast and hashbrowns on another. But, we didn't hang around Bend much after eating. We were headed to Burns and beyond :).

Ha. Totally depends where he's going. A lot of OR is pretty rural and some parts pretty remote even. It's not near all "as seen on TV" :)

    Which Stihl Saw?

Go with the bigger Stihl I have a 391 and it's a good saw, but for big wood my old 064 will definitely out cut it.

    Wildife Task force 90-10, etc.

I sure hope you all don't give in and they go straight 90-10. Giving residents a better cut makes sense. Outfitter set asides are what I struggle with as a NR DIY hunter.

"Well, you came up here for adventure, didn't ya?"

This is great! Having done this, almost exact trip 4 times for caribou or sheep (w/BIL from AK) it makes me smile thinking about the first time up. I was with my Brother-in-law, but Solo would make it even more unbelievable! It is so amazing! Seeing the pics really brings me back. That looks...
