Slick. I'll probably do this next trip to AK too.
I flew meat back from HI, but it was only about 1/2 a goat and it's skull/horns. I froze the meat in our condo freezer (all cut and wrapped). Then got a heavy produce box from the grocery store and packed the meat in the center of a crap ton of...
I'm a lefty and own the following:
Browning A-bolt .30-06
Tikka T3 Lite stainless .308
Savage 11 .243
Ruger M77 .375 Ruger
There are things I like about each one of these, all are nice. I love Browning's 60 degree bolt. The Savage 3-position safety and accutrigger are very nice IMO. The Tikka...
Very cool. I chased an ear-tagged bear before it got in my garage which contained freshly killed elk meat. I lived 25 miles from the nearest forest too! I didn't get the op to find out the story since I only yelled at it, my bear season had ended two weeks earlier...
You can view the data on a web map like this: https://caltopo.com
Just turn on the fire perimeter layer.
The source data is downloadable from the USGS: GEOMAC
I too would happily pay more on each of my resident licenses to increase wildlife law enforcement (and wildlife mgmt in general). I currently live in OR, where licenses are cheap and state police enforcing wildlife laws are scarce!
Hearing these kind of stories just breaks your heart.
Briefly:
I'm not sure the spirit of this is to boost local economies, but that is the sell. Especially in mineral extraction. Remember who has been sitting at the table pushing this.
We have to understand as a community that there is no one size fits all prescription for grazing and timber...
True, there are many ways to draw the line. But I think it sets bad precedent to call allow a motorized vehicle on non-motorized trails just because it's mechanically governed to operate somewhat like a pedal bike.
I'm admittedly biased because I've already encountered the e-bike crowd in my...

I can legally push a four wheeled non-motorized wagon down a gated closed road. By this proposed new BLM logic, I can then attach an electric motor to each wheel and it's still a 4-wheel wagon that is non-motorized??? Where do we draw the line....

You definitely need to consider stiffening your arrow if you have a weaker spine (more flex). All the spine charts don't show the kind of weight up front you need to increase FOC >15%. I'm just starting down the road of high FOC. Up until now, I was shooting a 400 spine arrow with...
In keeping with the comparison between SARS-CoV-2 and BHS respiratory disease, here is a nice complement to Oak's link to the Nature paper. It displays the genome sequencing of the SARS-CoV-2 virus strains and how they've moved about the globe. Graphical consequences of our well-connected...
I order from REI, try on, and if it doesn't work I return them to the nearest store (70miles). The local selection is not good, but you can get lots online.
I definitely agree. We may see even more parallels as this unfolds. Research is being conducted on how environmental conditions may impact cilia function in human airways, and our ability to remove pathogens we inhale during the day.
One of the most important pieces of research in bighorn...
Some units allow archery seasons on both General and Type 1 licenses (tags), given you have purchased the archery permit. You can find the dates and valid units in the table they publish every year. In Wyoming, you do not need to purchase a separate hunting license.
