Excuse the ignorant questions as I know nothing about this, but wouldn't we want to go out of the channels on a smaller boat to see things? My kids love animals, so seeing critters would be nice (gators and stuff). At this point, I really don't know the right questions to ask or how to plan...
The family and I are going on vacation to Florida in early March and want to do an Everglades fan boat tour. Can anyone recommend an guide/outfitter/whatever you call them? Or I suppose maybe more important, if you had a bad experience, share that with me? Thanks!
My wife says I have created hunting addicts! I just smile and say, "Yep". I have 2 pieces of advice for bringing your kids: make sure they stay warm and bring snacks. Not just any snacks, but the ones they really like!
I am just now getting to the point where I don't feel bad about shooting...
Somewhere there is a gaggle of women/men who are totally unaware what is going to befall them next year. They will go about their fall totally oblivious to the fact they will fall witness to this debacle.
Agree with Ben. What type of hunting and do you want a pointer or flusher? Any waterfowl? Home life with or without kids? Inside dog or outside dog? So many variables.
I will say this, it is hard to beat a good lab for an overall great hunting and family dog. We are toying with the idea...
If we prepay our subscription for next year's thread, do we get a discount? This has been the best/funniest/unfortunate/scariest/trying thread I have read in a long time. I cannot wait to see what happens next year. Start right away though, so we have a full year of entertainment!
Good times spent with family. I scored a yellow elk crossing sign which I really like, some Sitka Stratus bibs, a North Dakota State University Dad hat, and a foam roller to roll out my aching calf muscles! Best of all is watching my kids open presents. Funny how that switches....from being...
I interrupt this fascinating thread for a dad joke that made me think of one of the participants:
What do you call the tree trimmer who got a promotion?
The Branch Manager.
Sorry...not sorry!
What confuses me a little, is that to get it right shouldn't exactly cost that much. Just shows how out of touch the moviemakers are.
Probably goes something like this: Hey, anybody know anyone who hunts? No? Okay, Hey you low level Assistant, google "hunting scene" so we can put it in our...
Schnees Beartooth circa 2008. Wore them really hard for 15 seasons and then the laces wore a hole in the tongue so they are no longer waterproof. Still my favorite pair of boots to wear.
Buck Knife 118. I have a boat load of knives I have accumulated over the years, but this one is still my...
I have had the exact opposite experience with my Kenetreks. They don't cinch down well. Barely good enough. If they had velcro on the top they would be awesome.
I don't get sick of hunting, but I do get sick of the quest for big antlers. When the focus of everything is on antlers, it really ruins it for me over time. Now I like to shoot big bucks as well, but there is a limit and other types of hunting need to be emphasized more. The social media...
Did Rio get the scratch? Nice looking dog.
Hank, you are are lucky to live where you live, I will just say that! One cannot possibly put a value on hearing elk bugles from your homesite.
I don't know anything about New Mexico's wildlife regulations. Probably a great topic. But could you please start its own thread? I enjoy reading about Hank and Rio's adventures.
Now Hank, I don't know what I was expecting Rio to look like, but that is the first picture of Rio I have seen...
