Rifle Elk Caliber and Bullet Choice for 2023
If I can get some RL 26 soon it will be 7mm Rem Mag 143gr Hammer Hunters out of a Seekins PH2. Next would be a .308 150gr Barnes TTSX out of a Browning Hells Canyon Speed rifle. Plan C is a borrowed 300 Win Mag Sako with whatever CPO feeds it. -

Muzzy with 50 grains powder
My daughter at the age of 8 killed her first deer with a .50cal Traditions Hawken with a Hornaday Great Plains Bullet and 50 grains of FF Goex black powder. Who handgun hunts and what do you use?
Ruger SP 100 in .357 mag. T/C Encore in .308 and 22-250. For small game I have a Ruger MKIV .22 rimfire. -

Do you carry a pistol for bear when elk hunting???
If I carry a pistol it is a .22 for grouse and small game. Arrows are expensive and if it is gun season well center fire round is loud and not worth the possibility of vaporizing the small game. Bear spray in griz County every time. -
Tailgate Ramp for Large Deer
This... I put a rope on one end to go around the animals neck to keep it fro sliding. Just lift up the rope end, rest on tailgate then lift up the back end, slide it in and done. -
ID refuses to send wolves to CO, joining WY and MT.
I personally know they are already there. No need for adding more to the population. Doubt if WI will help out by giving them some wolves but MI probably will. -
Colorado OTC - How bad is it
I will say this. In 10 years all public land hunting has gotten more crowded. Colorado is probably the worst in my opinion. That being said if YOU put in the time and effort that it takes it will be rewarding. -
Win .243 Ammo Suggestions Please
Factory ammo I have had great results with 95 grain Nosler BT on antelope and deer. I reload but haven't done any for my .243 yet...waiting to use up all my Nosler ammo.- Redman

Black eagle deep impact
I made the switch to Black Eagle Deep Impact arrows back in 19 and have not regretted it! I got the outserts that you can add weight to so I could play around with FOC. My broadhead set up is Valkyrie 200gr Blood Eagle and 150gr Shwacker mechanical with 50gr of added weight.
