Barnes 127g LRX
I switched to Barnes years ago and haven't regretted it. I have not tried the LRX yet. I was considering them in my Seekins PH2 7mm Rem Mag or Hammer Hunters. My .308 loves 150gr TTSX and use it on everything from coyotes to elk. I load 120gr TTSX for my wife's 7mm-08 with great results.- Redman

You can only kill one next year
Tough choice between elk and mule deer. I had to go with mule deer because I saw one that big if not bigger through my spotter back in 2016....still haunts my dreams.- Redman

Bought my wife a Xbolt 7mm08 last year it is the micro hunter and you can upgrade to a full size stock for it anytime. It is a tac driver. She has killed 4 deer with it. Even with the short stock I shoot it just fine. It is a light handy rifle. Got a Leupold VX3 CDS from Schmalts and Talley... -

What tent to buy
Here is my take on the SO teepee system. I have a Cimmeron and a 8 man. For cold weather subtract 2 for the amount of people it says it can hold. Plan on packing a separate tarp for storing your gear outside of the tent. Go with the biggest stove you can. Always get the full liner system...- Redman

SO Teepee Condensation
Yes you would have to keep a fire going to keep the condensation down. A full liner will solve the problem. Yep condensation will sprinkle down when the wind makes your tent flap. Again full liner problem solved.- Redman

I use my stove in my Cimmeron and 8 man. The 8 man I have a half liner and 0 condensation issues on the half with the liner. The other half anything over on that side gets dripped on. The stove is not intended to be an all night burn to keep you warm. Titanium cools very quickly so once...- Redman

Those are all lies. Those bucks were all killed in a high fence property in Illinois. We only have small deer with pathetic racks. Kansas is where you'll find the good bucks.
