Only bad tasting antelope I have ever had was one that someone else killed and didn't take care of it quickly. I have found that as soon as you get it killed get the meat cooled down in game bags. As far as cooking steaks goes I use sea salt, grill to medium rare and as soon as they come off...
Pack rats! I am not sure if it is the rat itself or my 72 year old hunting partner that interests out shooting them with a 12ga when I am sound asleep. I call him the Great White Pack Rat Hunter. Many of nights have found me outside the hunting cabin holding a flashlight for Dave as he is...
The .220 swift is my all time favorite varmint round. The .204 is pretty sweet. For shooting alot and ammo availability it is hard to beat the .223 even if you are a handloader.
Yep and you would have to custom order and the price is higher for 80# and up. Not sure why? I have found that a very very sharp heavy one piece broadhead is more beneficial than trying to rip your shoulder out drawing heavy poundage. You give up having pins set close together unless you...
The more weight you have up front entering your target lessens the possibility of arrow deflection. I hate to use the word pull but the less weight you have behind your point, especially at angled shots, the better penetration you will have. A more balanced arrow will have a lot more weight to...
Well then you should test building a heavy arrow then test building a FOC arrow that equals the same weight. If properly done you will see where the FOC arrow out performs the "standard heavy" arrow.
No....really??? AGAIN OP is asking about increasing FOC not a heavy arrow set up. All my replies have been about lighter shafts and increasing weight up front.
My point being take a shaft put a 100gr point on it and shoot it now put a 200 gr point on it shoot it. 100% fact you will notice a difference in noise and vibration felt. OP was asking about higher FOC not heavier arrow set up.
I was doing it before it was cool. I started out with heavy shaft and broadhead. Then I put a heavy tip on a lighter shaft and shot it out of my long bow. I noticed that it felt different than using the same arrow with a lighter head and it flew remarkably well bare shaft. Owning a archery...
You add more weight up front so...you are changing the weight of the arrow. Because it is now heavier and causing more force to launch it absorbs more energy. Simple physics......
