I have packed more than a few elk out by myself. It’s not bad…just take your time and move slow. Go now and then go again later. Health will go before you know it.
How long after the drop have people pulled tags? There were a lot of 76 archery tags. I keep getting not available. I guess I missed them…to bad, that was a great tag
I don’t feel the cows move much…unless there is pressure. The bulls definitely move.
For me, I always have several areas I like to hunt. If the elk aren’t there, I simply move. I really like the areas but won’t bother if the elk aren’t there.
I have one area in Wyoming that I love to...
French tune works great for in the house. Close distances and works well. I always fallow up with a walk back tune but rarely ever have to move my rest after the first one.
No. I do my load development with scope and switch to open sights for states the require open sights. I use Leupold Quick release rings. Works great with a NEGC quick release peep.
I actually worked at UPS in college. I watched in amazement as snow skis were snapped in half at the sorting facility. I also watched in a shrink wrapped European moose rack (huge) went by on the conveyer. I always wondered if it made it.
I admit that I have a problem.
I just picked up another muzzleloader…a new Knight Ultra-Lite. .45 caliber 1 in 20 twist.Initial shots showing promise with 120 grn BH209 (by volume) and 270 grn Parker Hunter E max bullet at approximately 2250 fps.
Five shot group @100.
I now have three...
To highlight good things…booked my flight tonight to NM to help a friend on archery elk hunt on the Gila and wife just booked a family trip to Kona for Oct!
My intentions were clear. I was simply shipping a barrel. I never hid that fact. If UPS policy does not allow barrels. So be it. I won’t ship through them anymore. They opened the package after I told them it was gun parts.
This is a shipment of hammer bullets. USPS is not any better. I am really having shipping and reviewing problems. Note that the package went from Birmingham to Huntsville to Madison…then back to Birmingham, now back to Huntsville. Apparently “out for delivery” does not mean what I think it...
Ok…just a little rant but long story short UPS sucks. I recently sold a Benelli M2 rifled slug barrel. I went to UPS to ship. The barrel was packaged and ready to ship. I paid and moved on.
About 1 hour later the kid at the local UPS store called. He explained that I had committed mail...
I think the Leupold VX-5s are awesome for muzzleloaders. I really like the 2-10 for muzzleloader but personally went with the 3-15 for the windplex. I now have this scope on two of my muzzleloader and will be getting the 2-10 for my 50 cal.
No specific advice but…the roads in the area can get very bad with rain. The clay is virtually impassible. I would plan accordingly with a trailer. There were many days I wish I had brought quads. JMO.
