Sytes,
I am now less than 3 years from my fed retirement. I have moved enough and my high three is set. I currently live in Huntsville AL, and if my memory is even half way decent…I work with your agency as a detailee.
Huntsville is a good spot with a lot going on. I have done three tours...
I just had arrowhead instal a brake on my Knight Ultra-Lite. No difference at all in group size. I can easily shoot sub MOA with 120 grn (by volume) BH209 load, Veggie wad, and a 270 grn Parker 270 grn Match/Hunter E-Max bullet. I get a little over 2200 FPS with this load. Recoil was a bit...
When I still hunt I usually try to carry a wind checker and check as quick as possible to find the wind. Almost every time I am moving slow enough and get a strong smell of elk, I find them with binos. I thought that to my son and he was amazed at how often, when being very careful, we would...
It was at the time. I believe the laws have changed…if you have a concealed carry permit. At the time, over 20 years ago, it was illegal to carry a firearm in Utah during muzzleloader and archery seasons ( if you were hunting muzzleloader or archery season). I know the guy didn’t expect me to...
Years ago on a Utah GS muzzleloader hunt, I shot a very nice buck. It was a 4x5 with a 31.5 inch spread. Still one of my biggest bucks. I was a deputy sheriff at the time. As I was cleaning the deer, I had two hunters come up on me. One of them asked what I thought my chances were of...
I would ditch the bear spray because you will have your rifle. I find most people over pack and carry a very heavy backpack. This limits their ability to be mobile. I have found in most western states, getting one mile away from a road is a huge plus. You will loose most of the hunters by...
I have recently had a few health issues that have resulted in me going to a low carb diet and a litany of medications. My problem…I am now dropping weight way to fast.
I am having real issues with leg pain but need to stay on the low carb diet. The diet really helps you identify where...
I got one that was funny. Straight out said they hacked my computer and they would turn over all my inappropriate search history to my employer if I didn’t send them $2500 immediately. It was my work computer…my work monitors all my activity. It was funny that they were simply so straight...
Honokohau sunrise heading out for the day. Son’s first Ono from same day. Sunset on Kona. Beach Tree bar namesake at Four Seasons Hotel and Manta rays at Mana Kea. Great week in Kona. If they just had elk hunting this would be heaven! We had a 300-400 blue hit the spread. My son was shocked...
In 35 years of elk hunting I have only lost one elk. I tracked it for over 9 miles and I am sure it lived. All other archery elk have fallen within 200 yards of shot.
I kind of agree to threats to our public lands but…if they pull this off these will not be our public lands. Utah will undoubtedly sell the land. I lived there for over 20 years. IMO, there really isn’t a question of if but rather when.
Mine is two hookers and a rubber duck…never mind, I think I missed the original intent. I have moved to a trailer or cabin rental. But the wipes were as good as it got back in the day. I also used a solar shower about every three days.
