Agreed.
Hopefully, this is only the start of the process and perhaps between now and next year we can create wider awareness and support of this bill. Democrat co-sponsors will be critical to moving any legislation.
Just found that BHA has a website addressing this as well: https://www.backcountryhunters.org/jackson_mountain_trails_proposal?fbclid=IwAR0OyX6TT0TDWiGeaxk1To2t6i2Wb3Tun5c4wXfB9-FFfeY1za1Y7gJRl1A
I don't think this was a CPW STC grant project, but I thought most people watching this thread would be interested: https://www.hunttalk.com/threads/get-involved-usfs-comment-period-for-jackson-mtn-trail-plan.318136/
If you're not familiar with this project, basically what has happened is that the USFS ignored a whole bunch of illegal trail building and is now set to formally adopt the illegal trails with no regard for wildlife habitat (winter range, migration, production areas, etc). If this project goes...

I wish that is how it works. My hearing damage has only eliminated a small spectrum of the frequencies of human hearing. The biggest change is the sensitivity to loud noises. The analogy to back pain is almost perfect - once you have hurt your back, you are not likely to say, "Oh well, my...
The decision was made after the stakeholders mtg, so that was true at the time, his attendance and report from that mtg was a big part of why the chapter agreed to sign on. As for the website, I don't know about BHA national, I only know about the CO Chapter, which is mostly volunteers.
Just FYI, BHA had members in attendance at the stakeholders meeting and have decided to fully support this bill. The first step will be an open letter addressing the issue and CO BHA's support of the bill. I will post it here as soon as it is available.
