FY24:
The agreement provides $17,500,000 for APHIS to implement the Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) Research and Management Act. Specifically, of the amount provided for cervid health activities, $12,500,000 shall be for APHIS to allocate funds directly to State departments of wildlife, State...
From the article:
“There is good science that lions will selectively prey on CWD-infected animals, and that makes sense, because infected animals would be weaker and easier to kill. And what we can observe is that where there are no lions, there are higher rates of CWD-infected animals, and...
A pretty good write up back in 2022 from a couple folks at the wildlife Federation.

Even within that scope of a conversation there is nuance, a lot of nuance. By that I mean, even though there seems to be evidence that predators select for CWD positive animals, and do play some role in prevalence suppression. That has not been the case across the board. See the nearly...
We have an invite to interview with outdoor life and Andrew Mckean, but we want to wait until we have the website up and are prepared to accept traffic. Randy has graciously offered all of his platforms, but the same thought process applies. We want our i’s dotted and t’s crossed before we open...
No such thing. Every single penny is greatly appreciated and of extreme value. Not just to the NAPF’s humble beginnings but it means a great deal to me personally.
Thank you!

Fellow HuntTalkers and Conservationists,
As you may be aware, most all of our big game animals have a non-profit organization advocating for the well-being and permanent future presence of a sustainable, healthy, and huntable population. The one exception is the Pronghorn. But a group of us...
This is a bit unclear to me at this point. I tried messaging someone with an IPhone 13 and they didn’t get it. They did not have ios18 installed though either.
It says right in your iMessages when you send a satellite message “this person may not be able to reply from devices where the software...
Used for the first time this weekend. My thoughts…
A little more sensitive. I had trouble getting satellite connection in places I can generally send messages using my inreach.
Needs to be on SOS to connect to satellite. If my phone said I had 1 bar or even no bars but doesn’t show SOS, I...
I thought it would be too. But in terms of velocity I was wrong. Keep in mind 20” barrel w/ 95 gr LRX.
H1000 59.5 gr - 3191 no pressure but powder is almost to the neck.
H4350 53.7 gr - 3351 slight ejector mark
These numbers make me think RL16 and 4831sc are gonna be good candidates for this...
Loaded a ladder of H1000 from 55-58.3 gr and did not reach pressure. 58.3 was 3125 fps. Going to finish out that ladder with a few more that will end at 59.5. We’ll see where that gets me.
My smith recommended H4350 as well, so I have a 10 rd ladder of that ready to go too.
Also have some...
Travel Management is something the North Dakota Chapter of BHA has been pushing for since our inception in 2018. We can finally say it's here. Early engagement meetings start next week with scoping starting at the beginning of 2025.
NDBHA's talking points for early engagement and the meeting...
Representative Armstrong is currently ignoring any request to discuss this issue. We are working to keep it off the public lands package that will come later this year.
I'm attending a meeting in the near future to discuss the details with the North Dakota Trust Lands Department and I also have...
