Chris accessed it LEGALLY. So I guess we can see who gets a ticket.
I can’t drive in there either, and if I ever choose to hunt there would happily walk in. I’ve seen what limited access does for the resource.
I’d like to see more road closures and some enforcement on the ground on BLM and state lands….
Personally I’m sick of the blatant sXs & 4 wheelers running wherever they want on accessible lands, ignoring road closures, chasing/harassing game.
There’s more to every story.
Allegedly the guy on the four wheeler has been cited by enforcement for driving off road this fall, due to better evidence.
We created a problem with the elk/deer combo by making it split if the applicant didn’t draw an elk permit in an LE draw unit they can return the elk portion of license. Which the state reissues. This puts another set of boots on the ground, creating crowding issues for both deer and elk...
Try coming north…R6 Wa plates outnumber R by a LOT. Most of the local hunters I know have quit on account of to many NR and out of county (western Mt hunters) showing up.
@Ben Lamb I’d like to see the public be able to attend. We don’t particularly need crowd participation as that would most like end up in a fisticuff situation. The public should be allowed to comment briefly at the end. You never know who might have an idea worth hearing.
I’m not to worried about everyone being “happy”….my concern is taking the boot off the throats of OUR wildlife.
There will certainly be those not happy with change. The change(whatever this looks like) most like won’t be perfect, but something has to be attempted, cause doing the same...
If we elected commissioners all you’d be getting is the best politicians. The public by and large would have zero clue for whom they were voting.
People are amazingly ignorant and some downright stupid.
Agreed. Quotas were set to pretty much reflect 100% draw for residents. If we are going to LE permits, make the permit worth drawing.
This makes me think we need to explore a private land only permit and a public land permit. Limit pressure on accessible lands and turn up pressure on...
