Social distancing boredom: I made a thing (euro pedestal mount)
I was going to make some out of angle brackets and 1/4-20 bolts, but didn't have any on hand. I did a web search and found some on Etsy (Euro Hanger or something like that) for $8 each. I had to grind them down a little - the spinal opening on an antelope skull is just a bit on the small side.- ovis2

Accubound LR
I have shot 2 elk and a bison with accubond LR's out of my 300 WSM. I wasn't real impressed - mostly pass throughs with surprisingly small exit holes. All dead, and the bison only did a 30 yd death spiral, but I got little lucky and really center-punched the bull's heart. Went back to the...- ovis2

Looking at a new antelope rifle...
I, and my kids, have shot a bunch of antelope with both cartridges (the 243 is a Savage and the 25.06 is a Marlin). I tend to like the 243 for young/new shooters, very gentle recoil and the gun is a tack driver, but so is the 25.06 - all handloads. Flip a coin. Or whichever you can get the... -

Drew the deer combo! Be chasing some whitetails in the Sun River bottoms come September! Maybe venture up Montana way for some grayling fishing out near Red Rocks this summer as well. Maybe rainbow and browns on the Missouri, too! :) -

The Grand Canyon hiking R2R
