I lived north of there for years, still hunt the area.....Camp Hale is Unit 45 and is OTC, but is pretty tough in areas. If Cottonwood pass is closed, it is a decent back up area. -
Scouting Help (CO hunt, but general information welcome!)
I'd ask the question "What terrain are you looking at?" High mountains with patches above timberline? If so I'd watch that with binocs and spotting scope to see what roams around during evening or early morning runs. At least you see if they are in the area. Lots of trees? Little more difficult... -

6.5 cm hate?
I'm just no a big fan of the "Latest and Greatest", you hear it every couple of years, "this is the greatest new cartridge in the whole world...", and people rush out and buy them......I'll keep hunting with my .308, 30-06. and .300 Win Mag. Just an opinion.- Madman

Anyone heard any rumors as to when Leupold is going to produce a binocular platform with their laser ranger in it? Seems like they are pumping out decent range finders with the TBR feature, but are very slow on the uptake when combining them, such as almost everyone else seems to be doing. My... -

Wifes First Bull Elk! 2017 in Colorado!
Some units are 4 point or above and some have no antler restrictions. In this case, her elk was in a no antler restriction, although it is a 4x3......sorry it took so long, haven't been on very much lately.- Madman
