Idaho unit 27 report
I here ya on the WY critters! It sure looks easy from I-80, but I've never hunted 'em, so maybe looks are deceiving. Also saw some nice mulie bucks inside the ROW fence. I would imagine that if the WY guys see this thread, though, they will quickly inform us that what we saw was the... -

Yep, we got blanked. Hunted 5 days out of the truck camp. Heard the wolves, too. Saw a coupla cows in a hurry, one cow moose, a few mule does. Cold & WET! Just about every morning & evening either snow, rain, or fog, so couldn't do much glassing, and bulls weren't talkin where we could hear... -

How many people are hunting local ?
Idaho for elk. Oh yeah, and there's a one in probably 1,000 (give or take a few) chance that I'll draw a PA elk tag in the drawing next month. Needless to say, I'm not holding my breath. But you can't draw if yer name aint in the hat! -

A few weeks ago, when I asked about an altimeter, 4 or 5 of you suggested (some strongly ) that I get a GPS. Well, after some more thought, I bought the cheapest you can get (as far as I know), a Garmin Etrex, at Walmart last week. Honestly, I didn't have high expectations for the thing... -

The guy does do really nice work, but he won't do any more for me; I can't stand to wait that long. He had done a full mount of a little black bear for me (took a bit over 2 years) and a shoulder mount of a whitetail (took 16 or 18 mo). There we go. 19 1/2 lbs, 1 1/8" spurs, beards 8 1/2", 9 1/2", and 11". Had to make sure I can post pics since so much is at stake in the big fantasy hunt this year! :D- PAhunter

Finally! After 4 years, 3 mo, I got the thing back! I was afraid I was not going to see the thing again. Anyway, I am a newbie at the pic posting thing, but I will try.
