B & C don't get added into the total score so they don't matter in that regard. It looks like you did B right, but C is greatest spread of the antlers, outside to outside. On a rack shaped like yours that is probably the outsides of the main beams, with the tape/string pulled across the width... -

It would be interesting to see the herd density trend over that same period of time - i.e. animals per unit of area. Maybe that information is out there elsewhere? If that 20% doe harvest ~2003 plus "focal culling" plus some hard winters resulted in dramatically lower deer density it might be... -

Examples of nice elk mount with 8ft ceiling limitations
8' ceiling, 46" beams, ~336" gross. Max projection from the wall (his fronts) is ~48". His right beam would have been 6"-7" into the wall so made the form a wall pedestal to get the clearance I needed for that. Nose is about 50" off the floor. -

Kids and hunting
Having done this with my three (start em young, keep it fun,...) the one thought I'd offer is to think about taking them one at a time. That one on one time with you is a big big deal.
