Anyone heading to the sheep show in Reno? Just made reservations for me and my wife. Going to do the Friday night banquet and the <1 club drawings for both of us. Should be a blast. Really wanting to look at some of the gear too that I can only see on websites and read reviews of...

    Arizona Bison Hunt

Congrats on the tag. This is not a slam dunk hunt. This year they killed 2 buff out of the 25 or so tags issued for the first bull hunt. It can be really, really tough. Hopefully since the season is a bit longer in the month of June 2020 you will have better luck. I would call Russ...

I don't thing age is a big deal for doing the UL hunts. Being in solid shape is a must. The biggest part of being in shape is mentally. Most will melt down mentally long before their body gives out. You will have one of two reactions. Either you will be done in less than 72 hours or...

    Kifaru Universal Gun Bearer

I ride my gun with the scope down. It sure rides better that way. FYI - I love the system and was super happy with it. Does take a bit to adjust the straps so the gun rides where you need it but once it is adjusted the system rocks.

    Hunting Scope under $1000

Yes. They are worth the money. I've got the 3-18 and love it. I was out shooting the other day in the early morning. It was almost light and we looked through a few different good quality scopes and the swaro was far above the rest. We started shooting that rifle and couldn't even see...

Good for you!!!!! I don't think it is selfish. I totally get it. I used to post pics of critters that i would harvest and now it would be tough for me to post a pic and story ( I do enjoy a few of them though). To me it is really more about the memories and adventure than the grip and...

I think there should be a story that goes along with the pic!!!!!!! I think it is funny that everyone wants to know where the sheep was killed. I think it was Wayne Gretzky that always said "I good sheep hunter knows where the sheep are. A great sheep hunters knows where the sheep is...

The high level of suck is real. I think in order to thrive and actually have a chance at success in the unlimited units you really need to enjoy the struggle. The struggle is real and harsh. The physical struggle is a big part of it but the mental struggle is much harder to deal...

Had one of my buddies come up for 2 days. He came up by himself with his gear and is 72 years old. He might be a bit slower but he just puts one foot in front of the other and keeps moving.

Its so miserable that I'm looking forward to going next year. I'm actually watching the weather and seeing if I can make it up there again this year but I don't think that will happen. Its a great place but not an easy place to live in. Everything is work.

The pepper spray did have an interesting taste. It wasn't quite as spicy as I thought it would be. I mentioned to a few buddies that like spicy food that bear spray might be the ticket. They thought I might have spent a bit to much time in the woods alone but I was kind of serious. I...

Well I thought I would give it a try this year and see if I could go spend some time with my rifle and make sure my gear is still waterproof. I headed in on the 8th of September. That would give me a couple of days to adjust to the elevation and make friends with the bears. I got up to my...

    Accuracy question

As far as cleaning my gun for hunting purposes. Typically I will clean my gun really good before the hunt and go over every square inch (including checking the screws on the scope mount). Then I will go sight it in for the hunt and take it hunting. After the hunt I clean off the chunks and...

    Accuracy question

I like to keep things simple at times. Your gun is doing just fine for shooting deer at 2-300 yards. Go whack one!!!!! Your barrel will change a bunch from 0-75 shots. I don't worry much about anything prior to that. Copper in the barrel isn't the worst thing. I had a gun that was...

    Recurve advice for elk.

Well there are a bunch of ways to go on this topic. I have a few recurves that I've shot over the years. I'm a huge fan of Earl Hoyt and the bows he made. Used to hang out with Ann and Earl back in the day. Great people for sure. Spent a few days at his factory watching his guys make...
