A few years ago, we were watching a few rams and about a dozen ewes on the side of a hill in AZ. The rams were butting heads pretty good so there must have been a hot ewe in the bunch. They finally got in a place where we wanted to put a stalk on one of the rams. After further inspection...
So here is the funny part. Guys get all fired up about the rifle and bullet for the hunt. Most any gun/bullet combo will kill a sheep. If you shoot a sheep with a .243 it will die really, really fast. The choice of bullet and gun is the least important part of the equation. Now with...
Oh dear. I'm going to try and change the topic with a story from my AZ desert sheep hunt. I hope the size meets everyone's approval. Just and quick FYI. Any ram is legal in AZ so please don't slam my ram.
Holy cow was this an adventure!!!!!!! First, I started off by spending...
I bring a big agnes 15 degree bag and a thermarest pad. I will tell you I'm willing to spend some extra weight on this part of my system. It's all fun and games to sleep in a small light bag until you hit day 4. Then it sucks the life out of you.

There are other options too. Move to Alaska and go hunt goats and sheep as you...
I believe is someone really wants to go shoot a goat they could go to Kodiak and whack one or maybe two. I've heard there are plenty there to shoot.
The only place I could think of where an unlimited sheep hunt might work in the lower 48 would be in the Frank Church. That is some tough...
No. Not really into elk hunting anymore. But I've shot all my bulls out of unit 9 in AZ. The unit isn't nearly as good as it once was. All units in AZ you can shoot 300" bulls. Most units have 350"+ plus bulls. Just harder to get a tag than most places.
This is the most relevant information in this thread. When you tell the world where you hunt and all the details.......You will get to meet them on the hill next year. So ask yourself this question. Do you want the number of hunters to double next year? The specifics about the amount of...
