What was your first big game rifle, and do you still have it?
Winchester Model 70 30.06. killed moose, caribou, black & grizzly bear. Has it's place in the safe. -

Party time again! Moose taco meat burritos. Woke up to some more of this. A great hunt trip! I'm blessed and so grateful to have a son as a best friend. Sharing what I've learned over the years, and the grand kids thinking "this is what we do!" Normal stuff.- BearFoot

Forecast for the next day was rain. Woke up to this. Extended the front porch to get some work done. Following day is awesome, loaded up and headed for the highway. Close to the parking lot, partner riding shotgun says "I just realized that no one got stuck this trip!" Me five minutes later.- BearFoot

Ludicrous things you've cooked in camp

Fear of Lost Keys
I've floated ATV's twice in rivers. The last one, I had just bought. A crossing that I had done many times before, took me for a first time ride. With sweepers coming up, I had to let her go and save myself. Crawling up on the bank, I watched as it floated like a jet-ski, handle bars up, a 1/4...- BearFoot

How can it be work? If it's fun! Kid's say skinning moose is FUN! They handled most of the second one. Then I was asked "can we have steak tonight?" Cooking up tenderloin with salt. pepper, garlic, in butter. Tortellini with carrot & onion on the wood stove. Could not bring it to them fast...- BearFoot

A bunch of work ahead! There is a moose in the creek, moose on a hillside and nowhere to hang them. We cut trees, hung a pole and went to fetch my bull. and back to get the other. Time to load up!- BearFoot

Woke up to a misty wet day. The plan was to build a meat pole. That got delayed. A bull was spotted on the same hillside the boys chased a moose earlier in the trip. Geared up, each with a rifle, off to cross the drainage. Sure enough the rain picked up. I moved under the tarp, by the cook...- BearFoot
