As others have mentioned, check your zero.
If you have the opportunity, take a few longer shots when you're at elevation.
Close in, your zero might not be that different. At longer ranges is where the difference will be.
Also, don't use a CDS dial.
It will match up at your 1,000ft...
A 1:9 will stabilize all but the heaviest of 7mm bullets, or the middle weight mono bullets.
Heck even my 1:10 twist 7mm Weatherby stabilizes the 175gr ABLR.
If the Terminal Ascent is a mono, at 155gr, it will need a faster twist.
For the OP's stated 160-170gr bullets, the 1:9 will be fine.
I'm well aware that an illuminated reticle doesn't illuminate the image.
Hence the word "reticle" attached with it.
And exactly as I said. If it's dark enough that you need the reticle illuminated to see it, then your not properly seeing your target or what is behind it.
For archery I use...
My thoughts on illumination are such.
If it's dark enough that you need the reticle in your scope illuminated, then it's too dark to adequately identify your target.
Much less what is behind it.
Another animal walk behind it?
Another hunter you didn't see?
Really??
Seen any of their Enduron line recently?
I can go to my local distributor and get any of the Vihtavouri powders.
All are in stock at reasonable prices.
@JDH,
I put a Crimson Trace Hardline 3-9X40 with the MOA reticle on my inline.
Great glass!!
Ability to just use the reticle makes things fast and easy.
From a noob standpoint, Mazak is much easier to write programs for.
Very conversational software.
Having all the information on a tool when you set up the tool makes things less stressful also.
Example.
Tool 7A. ID grooving bar. Shaft .75", carbide, width 0.094". Nose radius 0.15 Depth of...
You looking for tailstock, or 2nd spindle on the TL2?
One of the things I miss about the Mazak Quickturn 250 that I was running.
Second spindle was really nice in that I only had to write one program to do a complete part.
Our HAAS lathes with tailstock take 2, even 3 programs plus taking the...
@perma,
I totally agree with Addicting & Farmer20.
You changed 2 components with the added effect of switching from fire formed brass to virgin brass.
You need to start at the beginning.
I'll help you save some money.
If you want to use Nosler bullets, use the Ballistic Tips.
For load...
So late last year I picked up a Henry Single Shot Brass in 45-70 for a woods rifle.
Really like the gun, but the sights, not so much.
Was thinking about putting a red (green) dot on it to keep the sights small and low.
Been looking at the Holosun 515 & 530.
Quite a few models for each...
Wait...
24" is too long for "tight woods".
So you're looking to cut 4" off and screw a 6-8" can on it thinking it will make it better??
I'd cut it to 20" and leave the can at home.
While you're at it, check the LOP on the stock ( wearing whatever clothing that you wear while hunting) and...
I'm seeing a HAAS VF3 in your future. Lol
I really enjoy spending time on the Bridgeport at work.
I'd almost do it for free.
Don't tell my work that!!! Lol
