Something you'll discover about re-loader's is they all have what they thing is the prefect bullet! And to tell the truth, if they can properly place the bullet then they will find out they do have a great bullet. Ugly guns
I've got a 700 ADL from the late 90's. Got as a present in 243. Today the plastic stock is gone, replaced with another 700 ADL take off stock. Replaced the barrel with a LiLja in 260 Rem. Rifle actually looks a lot better without that plastic stock!- Don Fischer

.308 win bullet selection for new reloader
I used the 308 as my main rifle for years. And pretty much always shot 165gr Hornady SP in it. Have never shot an animal with it I could complain about the bullet with. That next to last Springfield, does it still have the two stage military trigger in it? I have a Springfield I inherited from a very close friend. .44 mag hunting loads
I shot a S&W 44 mag once. Once was enough for me! Hate the recoil of heavier handguns. Shoot can't even stand the recoil of a 357 mag with jacketed bullets. But, had a Colt Trooper 357 and no problem shooting 38 spec 150gr cast from it!- Don Fischer

Two rifles, One Caliber?
I had two 243's, a 700 and a Mossberg Patriot. Both had their own set of dies and both used different loads best. But the case's for one rifle wouldn't chamber in the other! I partial size all my ammo to fit the chamber. Never tried to make one load that would work in both rifles. Don't see the...- Don Fischer

Do you own a scout rifle? Is it worth getting one?
HUH! Looks like my old 660 Rem 308. Loved the thing but somehow it ended up with my son! That old 660 was my go to rifle for a lot of years. I had a 2 3/4x Redfield widefield on mine! I miss the rifle!- Don Fischer
