    FWP lies about Corner Crossing

Apples/Oranges. You have access to your private land in this situation. Your ability to build a road would be contingent on any rights secured (easement) or agreement with the public land management agency. I don't see this ruling as having any bearing on a 'right to build a road on public...

    FWP lies about Corner Crossing

Too many landowners see private property as sacrosanct, and public property as undeserving of any respect. Fortunately, this judge pointed out the fallacy of such thought and clearly noted at shared corners the private owner does not have 'boundless rights'...there is a mutual interest and...

    FWP lies about Corner Crossing

This is something we all need to pay attention to...every county attorney running for office in the western us with any sizeable amount of checkerboard ought to be forced to answer how they view and would handle corner crossing.

    Wyoming Corner Crossing Defense Fund

MTFWP can say its 'unlawful'...but in reality...are there any anti-corner crossing landowners, prosecutors, etc. who really want to pick a fight and go to court? The legal gray area has always been to the benefit of landowners...if any of them are smart...they will do anything they can to just...

Absolutely fantastic news. I know the fight is not over, but well done to all those who fought to get us here!!

Montana startup becoming the Airbnb of outdoor recreation

Agree it can be an issue, but where type 1 is mostly unlimited it just gives a bit of insight to other hunters...no real downside to no shows since it's not exclusive. Type 2, agree some reservation limit or fee could help.

Montana startup becoming the Airbnb of outdoor recreation

I do think this LT website is competition for the state/bm...and I think the state (and all western states) should up their game to match the technology/appeal of this site. The more nuanced control by landowners (specific days, group sizes etc.) all tracked/managed electronically seems like a...

Montana startup becoming the Airbnb of outdoor recreation

I've had mixed feelings on this sort of thing, but I'm leaning more and more to thinking it is a positive. I hope more states look at this 'airbnb' system as a way to effectively manage their private lands access programs. I also think it opens the door for more access to private lands that...

Treaty rules continue in to pop up in wildlife news

Tribes often harvested fish and game as a means of barter/trade/profit. It most certainly was not based just on minimal personal use/consumption.

    Rangefinding binoculars

I have leica geovid hd-b 3000 - and have been very happy with them. There are definitely pro's and cons to rf binos that i think each hunter has to evaluate. Where I really love them is when I'm helping others on their hunts...it is so nice not to have to swap between bino and rf. I can stay on...

Wyoming looks toward hunting agreement with tribes.

They do not have any jurisdiction over non-tribal members (i.e., state licensed hunters). Perhaps in line with what has happened in AK - could they request federal land management agencies to limit hunting/access so as to not interfere with tribal hunting...maybe, but I don't think it would...

Wyoming looks toward hunting agreement with tribes.

I thought it was just the Gov/Legislature in WY that was off base on tribal treaty rights...appears the Director is not well informed on treaty rights as well. The state of WY has virtually no authority to regulate off reservation treaty tribal harvest seasons/quantity/means/methods for most...

ESG (Environmental – Social – Governance) and Conservation Tags

I largely agree - but see your main point as a second (and somewhat separate) issue from the general concern over SFW/Expo: Issue 1: What is the transparency/accountability of funds raised from a public resource (the wildlife/tags)? Are the beneficiaries getting maximum value, funds are used...

Wyoming point creep. How bad will it be for the NR elk draw this year?

I partially agree...a simple price increase on residents to fund the agency/keep up with inflation etc. is not at all popular. I bet if you floated a resident fee increase in exchange for cutting the current NR general deer quota by 80%...the money would come rolling in...if you could beat back...

Wyoming point creep. How bad will it be for the NR elk draw this year?

Maybe. But I think Residents of most states would gladly pay more to increase their share of tags...and I think 0-5% will be the new standard NR quota before long. Additionally, we've seen no evidence of any NR prices hitting a limit that hunters won't pay. I think in WY - they could cut...

Wyoming point creep. How bad will it be for the NR elk draw this year?

Tangential topic...but I think all these GoHunt, Huntinfool, etc. businesses are on their way out. If they were publicly traded companies...I'd be selling the stock as fast as I could. As NR opportunity starts to decline in the West (and I think its going to get pushed off a cliff in the not...

Wyoming point creep. How bad will it be for the NR elk draw this year?

I don't look at points accumulation that way...in some cases I do have a specific goal/unit, but I also recognize so much can change over time (units, seasons, rules, tags, point systems) that I think you always have to have flexibility. I look at points a bit more like retirement...

    Suppressor Experience

I put a deadair nomad ti on a browning xbolt 300 wsm (cut barrel to 21"). Absolutely Love it. Not sure if it was low expectations or the reduced sound or a combo of both, but the perceived recoil reduction is substantial.

Wyoming looks toward hunting agreement with tribes.

It is an interesting article - but the State has no real leverage unless they are willing to decimate game populations. Tribes with a treaty right to hunt are not limited to just tribes currently located in Wyoming (i.e., Crow, Shoshone-Bannock, and others) and other than a very high...
