If I could go back, I'd probably work towards being a psychiatrist or family practitioner. After the service I started school to be a psychologist but once I found out that even with a masters, there was not much money to be made, I switched majors. Several years and a circuitous route later, I...
I'd screw another barrel on and see how it does. Whether you do it, or have Shaw do it, is probably a ~$100 question. I agree that the Accustock negates bedding but if you just want another stock go for it, and I don't think there is any real value in truing anything.
Fwiw, I've had 3 rifles...
I posted on another thread that I've had the same issues finding accubonds for my 338-06 and 7mm-08. I'me in the process of switching to Hammers and Bulldozers. I'm pretty much done with Nosler. I don't have any to sell or I would.
I've been trying to find Accubonds in 7mm (140gr) and 338(200gr) and havent seen any in a couple years. Similar story with Berger elite hunters. I've slowly been converting everything over to Hammer and Bad Lands precision.
Just curious, but what are everyone's top criteria for a place being bad? for me I'd say crime rate, population density, unemployment rate, taxes, cost of living. Unfortunately, drugs are so prevalent anymore they are everywhere.
Slightly tangential but hands down the worst place I stayed in...
1. Honorably discharged from the Marine Corps
2. Lived in the UK
3. Travelled to 48 states so far (#49 will be this fall)
4. Met Lefty Kreh who flirted with my wife and taught her to fly cast whilst busting my chops (good naturedly)
5. 22+ trips to Alaska including Kodiak and the north...
My everyday carry is a Walther PPK .380. Others that I will carry instead.....
Shield 9mm
M&P 9mm (double stack)
For summertime pocket gun - Kimber Micro 380
Well at my age I'd take the cash option which is probably only $600M so I'd have to be a bit judicious.
Pay what few bills I have and make sure my friends are set.
Leave the east coast
Get a gunsmith on retainer
Hire a hunt planner/coordinator so they could ensure I'm hunting year round.
I did a long time ago. Very humbling but a good lesson. I was checking out a new spot about 20 miles from home. Parked along the road and planned to hike up a fairly steep hill and see what it looked like on top. I got out and angled up the hill slightly to the left of my truck. Got on top...
Love nice lever guns. My first rifle was a Glenfield 30-30 bought about 45 years ago from an auto parts store. Still have it and is an honored safe queen.
How about a octagonal barrel in 38-55, case hardened receiver, big loop, peep sight and some good, hand rubbed walnut stock/forend.
