Not sure of the context. I don't believe in the line between "consumptive" and "non-consumptive." On the other hand "shall give consideration" doesn't seem too prescriptive to me. I'm no attorney and don't know the political context. But I would focus on actions more than words myself.
From my mom's neighborhood of Waseca, Minn. George Herter was a legend. Who else could get away with writing a book called "How to Live With A Bitch." I've got a 1974 catalog somewhere that I learned to read on. He was one great copy writer.
Bottom line is, we saw that buck a few times in a city park in Kalispell and surrounding yards. I saw him at Christmas 2005. I watched him bed down and he looked a little off. I put up a trail camera to catch him, but found his carcass instead. I suppose he suffered internal injuries from a car...
This annoying yard buck roamed our neighborhood. He keeled over and is now on my wall. He 7 x 7. I think he grossed about 165 but has more character than symmetry.
Update on my dad, the 89-year-old elk hunter. I'm back on the home place helping him recover from hip replacement surgery. He hunted around the farm just about every day of elk season. Didn't get an elk, but did get a turkey which he said was easier to pack out. In October, he fell while...
Any chance to have tracking snow? Also, the biggest mule deer I've ever shot (the biggest I've seen in the wild) was in heavy timber, sniffing does in late October. A month before peak rut. I called him inside 25 yards bleating a cow elk call like a fawn. Get creative.
Sleeping out under the stars can be one of the great joys of life (sans rain and skeeters) and I recommend it heartily, solo or not. Damn damn damn. The memories. Back at the turn of the last century, my wife and I were in Baja. We were in our 20s. We kayaked south of Loreto and met a vaquero...
AG Knudsen is way off base on this one. TRCP is a radical leftwing group? It's mission is to protect hunting access. this is the kind of program that has protected family ranches, winter range and hunting access on the rocky mountain front and elsewhere. total misinformaiton from our AG.
I've been having fun promoting my new book, The Hunter & Angler Field Guide to Raising Hell. Rinella invited me to plug it on the MeatEater Trivia Show. It was a lot more fun to play in real life than at home. Kinda like aiming at a big buck instead of just shooting at the target range...
I've enjoyed discussing my new book The Hunter & Angler Field Guide to Raising Hell on various podcasts, including Randy's. But here is a recent conversation I had with the legendary Hal Herring at BHA's Podcast and Blast. You may enjoy it...
