They used to, and I assume they still do if these get reported. They also test anything that gets reported as sick or found dead. But opportunistic sampling is not ideal. The sample size is nowhere near high enough to get the statistical power to draw any meaningful conclusions. It’s hard to...
True, because again, once the environment is contaminated to a point it becomes a significant driver of infection rates, no amount of shooting can fix that.
No, Canada did the same nothing everyone else is doing. But that’s a moot point. Even with 100% buy in from everyone, it’s too late. There is no possible way to shoot your way out of a contaminated environment that continues to infect animals.
I’m sure it will come back around so you might not want to completely ditch the pitchfork. I know they were getting a lot of pushback from several angles. I suspect they will do more scoping before proposing it again.
Though if there’s really a 25% prevalence in R6 CWD testing I’m hearing...
This is so awesome to see! The pictures say it all. I doubt you’ll ever forget that smile for the rest of your days. Congratulations to all of you, and I hope you get many, many more adventures together in the years to come.

Relining the...
I think he’s got some old shotguns, but I’m not sure what vintage we’re actually talking.
I would love to take mine after antelope, but I need a lot more practice for that I think.
Figured I would put the final chapter on this thread. I spent quite a few days taking the old gun out. Last known time it went hunting was estimated to be sometime in the early 1950’s, so by my math it’s been nearly 70 years since anyone hunted with it.
I do struggle a little bit with the V...
Update time- was able to get a deer with the old rifle. I’ll update my gun thread, but it was cool to carry it afield again after the last 70 years of it sitting in a safe.
Will go back to working on the bow goal once the gun season is over.
