Okay, no $*)Q!#@$ joke—my wife just went to use the guest bathroom before we sit down for dinner, lifts the lid off the toilet, and discovers the seat completely wet. I cleaned it 45 minutes ago.
It’s like he’s not even human…
My daughter and I are leaving early tomorrow morning to help my dad find a cow elk, so right now I’m preemptively cleaning the bathrooms in our house in preparation for our guests coming for Thanksgiving. My God.
I honestly wish I loved anything in life as much as my five year old boy loves...
Well, you’re crushing it. Your hunt schedule and success every year is damn impressive. It’s obvious you got a ton of focus and determination, and aren’t afraid to go after what you want. You do a lot of cool stuff, and seem to be a really good dude, and I sure enjoy reading about your adventures.
This is just awesome, @Stocker. Huge congratulations to your boy. You and your family have always seemed like first-rate good folks and I hope that your wife makes a quick and full recovery. All the best to all of you.
As usual, great write up. Sorry it panned out the way it did but what a cool experience. Made me want to try the Midwest whitetail thing, which to be honest, hasn’t been something that’s ever particularly interested me. But the quiet focus of being in the stand like you described sounds like it...
I think this is one of my favorite hunt reports I’ve ever read—serious adventure and an incredible bull. Your writing captured it in a way that made me feel like I was there. If I were ever fortunate enough to draw a bison tag, I would want the hunt to go down like this. Awesome stuff.
Great discussion. It reminds me of the David Foster Wallace analogy about awareness:
There are these two young fish swimming along and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says “Morning, boys. How’s the water?” And the two young fish swim on for a bit...
What a cool hunt. From the specialness of the tag, to the camaraderie, to landscape and animals--this is a dream hunt. Awesome deer, Scott, and well-earned. Super happy for you, man.
I would allow many different horrible things to happen to me for a chance at a buck like that. Truly the stuff that dreams are made of. Sounds like you earned him—huge congratulations on one of the best deer I’ve ever seen posted on this forum.
This latest hunt report is to hunting what Scandinavian Black Metal is to music.
It was really cool to read your decision making processes, and see what a deep knowledge of the particular landscape and animals you hunt did to influence your decisions. Super informative. So congratulations on a...
Congratulations on the really cool bull, but sorry things were tainted by sad, pathetic, cowardly, flaccid jackholes. It’s hard to fathom what it would take to do something like that.
