    Case trimmer advise

If you are trimming a lot as in hundreds of cases go with a rcbs unit. If only doing 50-100 at a time I use the Lee trimmers and they work just fine.

    Wool hunting clothing

Polartec is warm and dries quickly but stinks quite literally after drying. They really are worth it. Great boots. I got frostbite on my feet while I was in the army on maneuvers. Have had a hard time keeping my feet warm for the last 45 years. Schnees keep them warm.

    Sabot Slugs vs Nilgai

Rifled slug commonly called pumpkin balls are fine in smooth bores but you are wasting your money shooting sabot slugs through a smooth bore. With my Ithica deerslayer smoothbore I could hold 3” groups at 75 yards about 5” at a 100. With a rifled bore and sabot slugs it is no problem to hold...

I haven’t washed my Woolrich hunting outfit in over 20 years. 2 weeks before season I pack it in pine boughs. After season is over I use a shoe brush to clean off any mud or...

    Wool hunting clothing

My first test of any hunting clothing is to run my fingernails up and down the fabric. If I hear anything I keep on walking.I am a still hunter or stalker. Silence is golden. Funny how critters never spook from red and black checked camouflage.

I wear camo when Turkey hunting and bow hunting but not big game rifle hunting.

    Wool hunting clothing

All fair points for western hunting, where shooting distances tend to be much longer than in thick woods here east of the Mississippi. Wool definitely gets heavy if you are walking longer distances going up and down mountains.

    Wool hunting clothing

I had an original Cabela’s goretex lined wool hunting coat but ended up selling it as it was way too noisy for still hunting.
