Don't know anything about that unit, but if memory serves me it seems like all the comments about that portion of the state is usually "saw tons of elk on private property and they never came off".
My two cents is I'd find an all rugged mountain unit with less public lands consisting of fields...
With several folks talking about the altitude, I'd also advise to make sure your gear is up to the task. Seen plenty of folks dreaming of hunting elk in Colorado and other great states, and good on ya, but many come out for a hunt and have inadequate gear (boots, optics, and pack comes to mind)...
I have a 1950's Winchester 94 in 32 Winchester Special that I'd consider letting go of for the right price. Not sure if you are collecting or hunting, but just so it's out there.

Damn nice Buck.....My units never seem to produce very good bucks, I've gotta find some better units, although I'd have issues saving that many points as I always want to hunt every season! Character flaw I guess.
Not too many folks I know of anymore who can afford much land in Colorado nowadays. If I had more than 11 acres I'd be in...but if they need Pronghorn reduced, myself and a few Veteran buddies would be glad to help out.
I buy in bulk so I went through the lot number that round came from and they had me ship all those boxes back....and they will be sending me replacements. I am assuming this must be a one off, one in ten million thing as I've never heard of any round not having a flash hole...guess it just...
