New gear
I bought a Yamaha 660 Grizzly new in 2004. Had the top end done and some scars on the body but it stills takes me where I want to go. It doesn't book for much but I'll keep it. I use it to plow snow all winter and it just keeps on going.- Dan O

Anyone have a $399 walmart wall tent?
I went on the review section of the wall tent. I read the reviews rated 1 they basically said it looked nice if you got a good one but the weather will tear it apart. Plus, the big issue no customer service from Ozark or wally world. Save your money and buy a real wall tent.- Dan O

Thats a tough question. You need to decide what area you're going to concentrate on, Mt is a big state. You might be better off trying to contact the biologist that works that area and ask him/her all of these questions. They normally will do their best to help you. -

Each week can be the best or the worst week. You are dealing with mother nature and her tricks with weather. I've seen it shirt sleeve weather during the Thanksgiving week and -40 and snow. So with that in mind the best week is the one you chose and give it a 100% effort. -

.45cal vs .50cal questions for 1st muzzy
BrokenChicken I see you mentioned Montana in the states you might do a muzzle loader hunt. If you plan to hunt during the regular rifle season your set up is legal. But if you chose to hunt the muzzle loader season your set up is not legal, neither are sabots or copper bullets. Just an FYI...- Dan O

Home Garage shops
I had a MQS garage built in 2017. 10-foot walls 40 wide 32 deep with 3 8-foot-tall doors plus a walk in. ISO: First time spring bear hunter advice
There are snotel sites all over the state, Check the ones that are in the area you plan to hunt. They will give you snow depth and temps that will give an idea what to expect. An example the snotel "North Fork of Jocko" had 114 inches last week and has settled to about 98 inches today. More snow...- Dan O

Spring Break Hunting Trip?
Montana spring bear opens April 15th but we got hit hard with the last storm. In the southern Swans & Missions we got 3 to 5 feet. This next 2 week period says precipitation above average. So I think spring will be a little later this year.- Dan O

Western Art week in Great Falls MT
Spent a number of years working security at the Heritage Inn during art week. There were some great artists there and the money flowed freely from the buyers. Those were fun times to be in Great Falls.- Dan O
