Update the Salmon Lake State boat ramp was open today. Saw one boat on the lake this morning. The road construction is going strong. Hopefully they get finished by June.
Last week or two the water dept was checking their update for the water meters. They had a guy going around to each house in our neighborhood updating the meters. It was kind of suspicious, so I went and asked him what he was doing LOL. I think they are using the tower in town you speak of.
There has been a sow in that area for 3 or 4 years that I know of. The dog issue is the first I've heard of. People let their dogs run free accept in the town area where they normally keep them on a leash. And the only reason they do it then is so they don't get run over by a vehicle.
Hilljackoutlaw where you working at around Seeley? Also for the guys that fish Salmon the north boat ramp is under about 25 feet of dirt in the entire pullout. The state hasn't opened the paved boat ramp area yet but I would hope they do it soon. So far just a couple of Kayaks been on the water...
They are working 6 days a week with Sunday off. The hours posted are 7am to 7pm with one way traffic. They have the lights working on each end. I've hit it one time and just had to slow down and the next 10 to 20 min wait. Just the luck of the draw. The one mile section is rough and varies each...

This year like last year my Weatherby Vangard in 300 Wby. with Barnes 180 TTSX. Or my tang safety M77 in 338 with Barnes 225 TTSX. Then later in the year my Green River Leman 58 cal. prb. Or if I want to just have fun I might pack either one of my Ruger SRH in 44 mag or 454 wearing a 2x scope...
No matter which magic bullet you use the wind will eat up your long distance accuracy. For a muzzleloader that means anything past a hundred yards. Check out the ballistic app's and study them then learn to read the wind.
Just beware tracked vehicles are not allowed on designated snowmobile trails in Montana. Each state may have different rules regarding the allowed usage of snowmobile trails. The USFS designate snowmobiles only from December 1st to May 1st for much of the road systems per their travel plan.
Congratulations on one heck of a hunt. You put the hunt in your sheep hunt. Man you have a lot of patience to pass up some of those rams. You did it the right way thanks for taking us along.
A lot of information to digest. Thank you for taking the time and money to do such a study. It's an eye opener for sure. Time to rethink what I'm loading for sure.
